Dermal Fillers

Dermal filler treatment is a medical procedure that uses hyaluronic-acid-based filler material to fill in wrinkles and hollows on the face and to reshape it. With a duration of effect between 4 and 6 months, fillers offer an anti-aging treatment with immediately visible results. The procedure takes an average of 10-15 minutes; an anesthetic cream is applied to the area beforehand, and the person can return to their social life immediately afterward.

Its popularity is largely due to the fact that it requires no surgery, is quick and practical to apply, gives instant results, and carries no serious side effects. There are three application options — temporary, semi-permanent and permanent — with temporary, dissolvable hyaluronic-acid-based fillers being the most commonly used method.

What Are Dermal Fillers Used For?

  • Filling deep wrinkles on the face
  • Filling deep lines that form over time on the face
  • Making the lip contour fuller and more defined
  • Adding volume to the temples, cheeks, chin and eye area
  • Reducing deep scars caused by acne and other factors

Where Are Dermal Fillers Used?

  • Cheekbones and cheeks
  • Jawline
  • Around the lips and the lips themselves
  • Around the eyes
  • Sides of the nose
  • Deep scars and acne marks

What Should Be Considered After Dermal Filler Treatment?

  • The treated area should not be touched, pressed on or covered with makeup for the first 24 hours.
  • Plenty of water should be consumed for the following 72 hours.
  • Facial expressions in the treated area should not be strained for the first 3 days.
  • Alcohol should be avoided for at least 1 day after the procedure.
  • Sun exposure, saunas and hot tubs and similar hot environments should be avoided.
  • Intense exercise should be avoided for the first week.
  • If applied to the lip area, asymmetric swelling may occur; the area should not be exposed to extreme heat or cold.
  • If a light filler was applied under the eyes, swelling and occasionally bruising may occur; the eye area should not be touched.
