Lip filler is the non-surgical injection of special filler substances into the lips to achieve the desired lip appearance. Made from synthetic hyaluronic acid, lip filler gives the lips fullness, more defined borders and a more symmetrical shape.
Its effect is temporary; however, its popularity stems from being quick to apply, painless and repeatable. It contributes to improved body image by boosting the person’s self-confidence.
How Is Lip Filler Applied?
After a local anesthetic cream is applied to the lip, or local anesthesia is administered from inside the lip, the filler material is injected into the designated areas using fine-tipped needles or cannulas. A cold compress may be used to reduce swelling and bruising.
When Is Lip Filler Performed?
It can be applied to healthy adults who are unhappy with thin, low-volume lips, who have a shape/symmetry irregularity in their lips, or who are bothered by fine lines around the lips.
